Former prime minister John Howard has strongly endorsed the takeover of the NSW Liberal division, saying it was necessary to defeat the Albanese government at the next election.
Mr Howard spoke after Opposition Leader Peter Dutton prevailed in his takeover attempt, blocking efforts by Sydney moderates to influence the administration process.
