Bill Shorten says a Coalition election victory risked creating "the most extreme right-wing government in Australia's history", slamming a preference deal between the Coalition and Clive Palmer.

Refusing to rule out negotiations between Labor and conservative minor parties in Parliament, Mr Shorten described Prime Minister Scott Morrison as sneaky, giving voters in Queensland a very different message from those in Victoria and NSW.
