Defence chief warns of damage from ‘serious’ intel leak
Leaked classified US intelligence that exposed dire details of Ukraine’s defences and damaging assessments of American allies was “serious” and could harm trust among close countries, Australia’s top military commander warned.
Speaking for the first time since the revelations emerged last week, Chief of the Defence Force Angus Campbell said there was a national interest in ensuring some information remained secret, amid a scramble by US officials to ascertain the damage and track down the source of the leak.
