Firefighters rush to contain blazes as they farewell one of their own

The human toll of the bushfire crisis hit home at the funeral of a fallen volunteer firefighter in NSW on Tuesday, as one-year-old Charlotte Dwyer bid farewell to her father Michael.

Michael O'Dwyer, 36, died alongside fellow firefighter Geoffrey Keaton, 32, in December when their fire truck rolled while battling the Green Wattle Creek blaze south-east of Sydney.
