Crossbenchers to continue holding Senate balance of power

No matter who forms government after the next election, they will have to deal with a hostile Senate potentially thwarting claims to a legislative mandate.
While six minor party crossbenchers – and six Greens – are up for re-election, there will still be a core group of four remaining who won a six year term at the 2016 double dissolution election.
