Critical infrastructure operators need to adopt the mindset of a hacker to protect their system by hunting down vulnerabilities, strongly vetting suppliers and reviewing their stored data regularly, according to security experts.

Deloitte risk advisory partner Rachelle Koster said systems of national significance in sectors (SoNS) such as energy, communications and ports should adopt an “adversary mindset”.
