Crash hits army’s multimillion-dollar drone program

The army has written off a drone worth an estimated $1 million after it crashed landed while taking off during a test flight, in a further blow to a program running months over time and millions over budget.

Soldiers were flying the Integrator drone at the military’s Shoalwater Bay training area in central Queensland when the drone lost communications with ground control operators and plunged to the ground, The Australian Financial Review can reveal.
