Company boards will be put on notice over gender pay gaps after laws requiring chief executives to provide reports to their governing bodies about how men are paid compared with women were passed with bipartisan support on Thursday.
The changes will also enable employer-level pay gaps for around 40 per cent of businesses to be published by the Workplace Gender Equity Agency (WGEA) for the first time.
