Amid the sometimes wild theatrics of question time, Jim Chalmers has become quite the master at helping Anthony Albanese out of sticky spots.

Seated strategically behind the prime minister, Chalmers, with his head for detail, has at times played the role of the prompter in the school play by subtly providing answers to questions Albanese is clearly struggling to answer – such as gotcha questions on the economy.
