Liberal candidate for Wentworth Dave Sharma accused his independent rival Allegra Spender of being “dishonest” for not saying who she would back in a hung parliament in a televised debate on Thursday.

During the one-hour forum, voters probed the two candidates on cost of living issues, national security, religious freedom, a federal anti-corruption commission, transgender athletes in sport and, of course, climate change.
