China, coronavirus to dominate AUSMIN talks

Rising tensions with China and the recovery from coronavirus will dominate the annual foreign affairs and defence talks with US officials, as Australia looks to deepen collaboration on "health security", countering disinformation and in defence research and development.

Foreign Minister Marise Payne and Defence Minister Linda Reynolds will jet into Washington, DC on Monday morning US time for the annual AUSMIN talks with their counterparts Mike Pompeo and Mark Esper.
