The Morrison government’s Mandarin-speaking China expert and economics committee member Ted O’Brien has delivered a powerful condemnation of what he says is a victimisation game being played by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) that Australian businesses urgently need to wake up to.

In a 3700-word essay to be published in Quadrant, the Liberal National Party MP, who spent a decade living and working in Taiwan and China in sectors from agriculture to technology, says the CCP was trying to include Australia as one of the foreign powers that had persecuted China.
