Labor’s broken promises on the stage three tax cuts and superannuation mean it could still curb tax breaks for housing investors after the next election, even if it rules it out beforehand, Peter Dutton says.

The opposition leader gave an “absolute guarantee” on Thursday to leave negative gearing and the capital gains tax concession unchanged should he win government, while Anthony Albanese refused for a second day to categorically rule out curbs.
