Trade Minister Don Farrell is backing talks that would link Pacific and European nations together in a mega bloc championing free trade as an antidote to US President Donald Trump’s sweeping global tariffs.
But he dead-batted questions over China joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade deal, even as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese declared Australia’s support for Indonesia becoming a member of the pact.
