ATAGI still pondering boosters as Biden gets his third shot

The federal government’s expert vaccination panel has not finalised consideration of medical data on the need for COVID-19 booster shots, six months after frontline workers, the elderly and other priority Australians received their first injections.

Countries including Israel, the US and Britain have begun booster programs to strengthen protection but Health Department boss Brendan Murphy said the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) was still considering overseas evidence.
