Anthony Albanese has begun an intense, nine-day round of summiteering at the East Asia Forum, the G20 and the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation meeting.
It is hoped it will culminate in a meeting on the sidelines with President Xi Jinping, where the prime minister must press the Chinese leader to drop the counterproductive trade sanctions on Australia.
