Albanese gaffe won’t change vote, AFR readers say

The majority of The Australian Financial Review readers say that Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese’s gaffe last week over the unemployment rate will not make them less likely to vote for him, with most predicting either a Labor victory or hung parliament on May 21.

Several pointed to former Coalition prime minister John Howard’s initial response to the blunder – when Mr Albanese failed to recall the unemployment or cash rates – of “so what?“, and said the media had focused on it too much.
