Albanese draws a line under cost-of-living assistance

Anthony Albanese has drawn a line under household cost-of-living assistance, accusing the former Coalition government of “spraying around” cash and adding to the Reserve Bank’s inflation challenge.
Describing the government’s budget surplus as a necessary buffer against looming international shocks, the prime minister said targeted household support had been necessary and responsible.
