Albanese backs coal and gas export boom

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has assured the resources sector and the nation’s key trading partners that Australia will remain a reliable global supplier of coal and gas, as well as clean energy alternatives as the world eventually moves away from fossil fuels.

While the government would work with the sector to lower its emissions and be part of the transition to renewable energy, the prime minister said this, too, would be orderly, predictable and underpinned by certainty.
