Calgary, Canada | Anthony Albanese has expressed support for Canada joining AUKUS while also giving the green light to negotiate a bilateral defence pact between Australia and the European Union, saying the nation needed to broaden its security relationships in a volatile world.
Speaking after meeting Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in Calgary on the sidelines of the G7 summit, Albanese was favourably disposed to a request by his counterpart about Canada joining AUKUS’ so-called Pillar 2 stream.
