Competition watchdog boss Gina Cass-Gottlieb has implored the Coalition and Greens to pass Labor’s overhaul of merger approvals, calling it the most important law change in the life of the current parliament.

The Business Council of Australia has also backed the legislation before the parliament after getting major concessions from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission during public consultations.
