After 12 years in the wilderness, the Labor leader thinks the timing is finally right to seize the top job in NSW.

Chris Minns is hungry. It’s just after 8am and the NSW Labor leader, sharp in a blue suit, is ordering an omelette and a skinny flat white at his local café.
Outside, two protective officers in suits and earpieces stand guard. It’s an unfamiliar experience for the man who could be NSW’s next premier on March 25.
