Booster jab interval cut as case records tumble
Close to 16 million Australians will be eligible for a third dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by the end of January, after Health Minister Greg Hunt announced the waiting time for a booster would be cut next month.
Mr Hunt said on Friday the waiting time for a third shot would be reduced from five months to four months on January 4, bringing the total number of people eligible for a booster to 7.5 million. The interval will be reduced again to three months on January 31, at which point 16 million Australians will be eligible for a third dose.
