Battin vows to scrap electricity commission, names shadow cabinet
Newly minted Victorian Opposition Leader Brad Battin has pledged to scrap the State Electricity Commission and halt construction on the controversial Suburban Rail Loop if he becomes premier, while also putting the $2 billion venture capital fund Breakthrough Victoria in his crosshairs.
Mr Battin on Tuesday rewarded MPs who supported him when he replaced John Pesutto as party leader last month by installing ex-tennis pro Sam Groth as deputy leader and James Newbury as shadow treasurer, with Bridget Vallence taking over the finance portfolio.
