ASIC sues Cbus for ‘inordinate delays’ in claims worth millions

The corporate watchdog is suing industry superannuation fund Cbus for customer service failings it says cost thousands of members dealing with disability and the death of loved ones at least $20 million.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission also accused the $94 billion fund of trying to mislead and deceive it when Cbus eventually self-reported the issue, which it only did after a customer complained on ABC talkback radio.
