NSW students flock for jabs, but teacher vaccinations unknown
A total of 6500 school students were vaccinated in two days but the NSW Education Department has no idea how many teachers have had jabs.
The NSW government does not track vaccinations of school teachers and has not placed teachers, including those in eight hotspot areas in Sydney, on a priority list, describing vaccination as a personal issue, an Upper House inquiry has been told.
Education Minister Sarah Mitchell was also asked whether there was a “coherent plan” to get Higher School Certificate students to sit their exams in mid-October.
