Parents opposing a plan by Sydney private boys school Newington College to accept girls say it may breach trust rules for the 160-year-old institution that declare that property it owns should be used to educate boys only.
A letter sent from Brown Wright Stein lawyers to the school’s chairman, Tony McDonald, on Wednesday on behalf of a group of parents flags a potential legal challenge to the coeducation plan for possibly breaching the school’s trust and charitable obligations.
