Herpes is generating a buzz in the world of Alzheimer’s research.
After being discounted for decades, there’s now a flurry of research on whether the virus may be a risk factor for this devastating disease. The focus is on herpes simplex virus type 1, which causes cold sores, and there are now almost 500 studies on its possible link with Alzheimer’s.
