Crackdown looms on rogue students, colleges

International students will need at least $24,500 in savings and will not be able to enrol in a second course in the first six months under changes to be introduced by the federal government to alleviate rorting of the student visa system.

It comes as skills ministers on Friday ramped up the powers of the regulator to assess whether college owners are “fit and proper people”.
