Attendance at big childcare operators across NSW has fallen less than 10 per cent despite a plea from the state government that parents refrain from sending their children to centres unless it is necessary.
The single-digit drop in attendance since the plea was made by the Berejiklian government on August 22 is in sharp contrast to the dramatic decline in childcare centre attendance in Victoria and the ACT, where strict attendance rules are in place.
