The world we knew before the coronavirus will not return
This pandemic is more deadly to globalisation than the most virulent populist nationalist.
Allan GyngellCOVID-19 has done more to close borders, reverse globalisation, decouple supply chains and marginalise multilateral institutions than the most fervent efforts of the world’s populist nationalists.
At a time when the world is reverting to its smallest constituent parts – from international system to nation state to city to socially isolated family unit – it might seem premature to speculate about what happens when the crisis passes.
