Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Peter O’Neill on Thursday night declared a military mutiny in the Pacific Islands nation over and said the government had regained full control of its military barracks, ending a dramatic day in the country’s ongoing political crisis.
A group of rebel soldiers took the commander of the country’s defence force captive early on Thursday morning and demanded the reinstatement of former prime minister Michael Somare .
