Philippines partners Australia on peace, stability and success in Asia
President Ferdinand Marcos jnr’s speech is in keeping with the tightening network of Asian nations who are keen to keep the US engaged and are suspicious of Beijing’s intentions.
President Ferdinand Marcos jnr of the Philippines has gone to Australia’s parliament to invoke the common spirit of 1942 and resistance to Japan, vowing that his country “will not yield” in allowing any foreign power “to take even one square inch of our sovereign territory” or to upset the region’s peace, stability and success.
