Hacktivists steal 300k police emails to protest offshore detention

An activist hacking group has claimed to have stolen and leaked 285,000 emails belonging to the Nauru Police Force as part of a protest of Australia’s offshore detention policy.

Late on Monday night, Enlace Hacktivista, a hacking website, published 82 gigabytes of data, claiming to be 285,635 emails from the Nauru Police Force. The emails document “conditions of the island and abuses endured by asylum-seekers and refugees”, according to a tweet from Anonymous, an international collective of hacktivists.
