Chinese President Xi Jinping's global sales pitch for his ambitious plan to revive the old Silk Road and open up new maritime trading routes by spending billions of dollars on infrastructure, has been overshadowed by North Korea's latest missile test.

In a keynote speech to 29 national leaders and representatives from more than 100 other countries gathered in Beijing for the "One Belt, One Road" summit, Mr Xi committed more than $150 billion in new funding to OBOR.
