Kyiv | China, a firm Russian ally, called on Friday for a ceasefire between Ukraine and Moscow and the opening of peace talks as part of a proposal to end the fighting that started one year ago and to reinforce its claims to be neutral over the conflict.
The so-called peace proposal came as fighting raged on in Ukraine’s east and north, and as the besieged country’s allies around the world showed their support on the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion.
