What direction now for the NEM?
The litany of state government’s interventions in transition have fractured the National Electricity Market. A mixed model that supports private sector investment is the best hope from here.

These actions make it clearer than ever that governments have rejected the model of a fully privatised market, preferring to be market players as well as rule makers.
