Wharfies to strike to attend climate action rallies

Hundreds of wharfies will be stopping work to take part in national climate change rallies, using protections for industrial action designed for enterprise bargaining.

The Maritime Union of Australia confirmed that 380 stevedores from Hutchison Ports at Sydney's Port Botany would stop work from 10am to 2pm on Friday to attend the Climate Strike.
