Victoria’s opposition has warned that an estimated $4 billion plan to construct seven new renewable energy zones across the state could more than double in cost, as the Allan government unveiled a 15-year road map to replace coal-fired power generators.
The clean energy proposal, released late on Friday, came as most local media was focused on protests by farmers and firefighters across regional Victoria after the Allan government passed a new $2 billion emergency services levy in the early hours of Friday morning.
