Macquarie caught up in day of British climate protest

Hans van Leeuwen

London | Macquarie has been caught up in a day of climate protests in London, as activists targeted its British HQ with a colourful demonstration against the bank’s involvement in a £2.2 billion ($4 billion) London tunnel project.

The protest, which attracted only about 50 demonstrators but was clearly aimed at social media, would have touched a nerve at a company that prides itself on its green credentials, with CEO Shemara Wikramanayake on her way to Glasgow for the COP26 conference.
