Flood claims in the thousands as heavy rain continues to lash NSW
Australia’s largest insurers have received about 9500 claims in the wake of floods across NSW as the industry body declares a crisis to fast-track claims.
As the Defence Force prepared to deploy helicopters, vehicles and personnel to help with disaster relief, nearly 20,000 people were ordered to flee their homes in NSW, with more than 8500 residences potentially affected.
