Catherine Brenner backs carbon risk start-up Emmi

Company director and former investment banker Catherine Brenner has joined Hyperion Asset Management chairman Tim Samway in backing a new start-up that wants its method of scoring companies’ carbon risk to become as ubiquitous as traditional credit ratings.

Ms Brenner has invested in and joined the board of Emmi, which aims to allow institutional investors and listed companies to understand a company’s carbon financial risk - including scope 3 or customers’ emissions - through the prism of a universal benchmark.
