The shift to working from home is here to stay and employers will need to consider cutting back on redundant office space, says Australia’s top statistician.

Speaking to The Australian Financial Review, Australian Bureau of Statistics chief David Gruen said the COVID-19 pandemic had sparked rapid growth in Australia’s digital economy, evidenced by the widespread uptake of remote working and a shift toward shopping online.
