Queensland doubles down as NSW, ACT locked out
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has doubled-down on shutting off the state's economy from the rest of Australia by extending the border ban to all of NSW and the ACT from Saturday.
With Labor attempting to win a third term in office in October, Ms Palaszczuk admitted the hard border with NSW – which comes only weeks after it was opened – was popular throughout Queensland, especially in regional areas, to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
