Jim Chalmers (“Chalmers fires back at ‘snobby’ critique of jobs boom) claims people who are concerned about higher public spending especially in the aged care sector are snobby. A very strange use of the adjective indeed.

I thought the real debate was on a rational ratio of government take to GDP and national productivity. Some time ago the treasurer dismissed this first statistic as irrelevant. This is very convenient. We have seen little action on the second.
