The recent former head of Victoria’s Property Council, Danni Hunter, warns that the state’s business lobby groups have been captured in a cosy club which emasculates their ability to criticise the Andrews Labor government.

The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s latest annual report shows federal and government grants contributed more than half its revenue – $25.7 million of the $44.7 million raised last financial year. Membership subscriptions contributed just $4.7 million of the chamber’s revenue.
