When The Australian Financial Review marked its 50th anniversary of becoming Australia’s first national daily newspaper in 1963, Carla Zampatti was acknowledged as one of the 50 business leaders, builders, pioneers and stirrers who had shaped modern Australia over the previous past half century.
Her death on Saturday as a result of a fall is tragically premature. As we said in 2013, Ms Zampatti brought European style to Australia as an immigrant female fashion pioneer.
