Andrews has no one to blame but himself for Victoria’s ‘horror’ budget
A $96 million Victorian plan to give every school kid a fishing rod was small fry but symbolic of Andrews’ big spending culture and waste.
Patrick DurkinBOSS Deputy editorThe day before the November state election, The Australian Financial Review was at a Northcote kindergarten with the Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews and asked him a series of questions about free fishing rods for kids.
The Andrews’ government had been saturating its social media with a $96 million package which included giving 60,000 Little Anglers Kits to primary school aged kids across Victoria. The Victorian government said in a statement the rods were only worth $1.5 million as part of the broader package.
