Andrews government goes postal
The Victorian government is scrambling to catch up to a virus it let get out of control. But the tough questions about Daniel Andrews' handling of the crisis are mounting more quickly than the spike in numbers.
Jennifer HewettColumnistAfter protracted resistance, Daniel Andrews has finally been persuaded to adopt a targeted lockdown in 10 postcode hotspots in Melbourne, covering dozens of suburbs for four weeks from midnight on Wednesday.
The announcement will be publicly welcomed by the Morrison government, which has been urging this course, increasingly vocally of late, on a reluctant state government for nearly two weeks.
