It's time to stop setting up new government bodies, Mr Turnbull. Australia already has too many energy regulators. It doesn't need another one. Instead, there is a strong case for scrapping one of the existing three national regulators – apart from others at the state level.

Yet the Turnbull government is setting up a new Energy Security Board (ESB) with the support of the states.
