What will the Energy Security Board achieve that three other regulators couldn't?
Brian TooheyColumnistIt's time to stop setting up new government bodies, Mr Turnbull. Australia already has too many energy regulators. It doesn't need another one. Instead, there is a strong case for scrapping one of the existing three national regulators – apart from others at the state level.
Yet the Turnbull government is setting up a new Energy Security Board (ESB) with the support of the states.
